What is Milan Kundli?

In the Vedic tradition, two people’s charts can be read side by side to describe the character of the connection between them. This is Milan Kundli, sometimes called Kundli matching or Guna Milan. It is most associated with marriage, but the same reading applies to any committed romantic partnership.

What it looks at

• How your emotional natures meet, drawn largely from both Moon signs.
• Where you find natural harmony, and where your differences need translating.
• The timing of the relationship: seasons that favour patience, repair or closeness.

The traditional points system

You may have heard of the Ashtakoot method, which scores compatibility across eight factors out of thirty-six points. We include this for those who want it, but we treat it as one input among many, not a pass-or-fail grade. A number can describe a tendency; it cannot decide a relationship.

What it is not

A Milan reading is not a verdict, and never a reason on its own to stay or to leave. It does not prescribe remedies or rituals. Concepts like Mangal considerations are described as factors to understand, calmly, rather than problems to fear.
